Havn't had the chance to get to the horse paddock as yet, but have noticed that by not slashing the paddock the plants are still there even after the hot summer spell we have had, meaning still showing the greeness! We have been busy with the cropping paddocks ...

Sounds to me mate that even not knowing who you are, you could have a major influx on your local area that all the locals would love to have you around. With the way things are going in the world for credit wise and you wanting to have a community garden for the town, who realy knows how your life w...

Colin, Your on to it again! We only have to look outside today to see what sort of impact the wind is doing to the topsoil. Without a cloud in the sky i can hardly see the sun, i'd hate to hear what tonnes of soil is getting blown away just because of the open ground. It's amazing what technolgy the...

Colin, Its a way the politics work, for Melbourne to get the north-south pipe line they needed to show how the water was wasted. For what i have seen around my area the main channels that are being lined are the second main delivery channels. Another thing they have done to keep the country town peo...

Have ever noticed when you leave old worn out machinery some where in the back paddock that the plant life thrives. If you have a small concern spot that the animals get to and it's causing eroision. Move your old junk onto it, it will protect the small area without needing to fence it off. Old trai...

I mentioned in another post that using small square bales in hilly areas was a good way of starting a contour line. I remember as a kid doing the paper round, and seeing the papers that have not been sold from the pevious days bundled up and tied together with string. This has now given me the idea ...

Marni I have a idea for you but it may be alot of work but it should help. If you could use small square bales of straw and hay you could place these along the contour line of your steep hills that you have problems with. Firstly your cattle will love you for it, and also by doing this it will also ...

Thanks Duane! Yep my first thing to do is block these drains that lead to the dam. Hoefully in the end i can fill this dam in, we have water troughs for the animals so realy there is no need for a dam of that size in such a small paddock. I for one want to win this bet, and its not for money! Even t...

Firstly understanding what you have is the main part of your troubles, after reading a great deal on Peters ways and being involed in this forum, you soon learn that nothing happens straight a...
