oak trees

I have been planting acorns with great success, only to read that oak trees are poisonous to sheep. Has anyone had any experience with oaks? Years ago they were grown for stock and I have fed acorns to sheep in a drought with no problem

HI Rose,
There are many poisonous plants and the animals seem to only eat them when there is no alternative. As Peter describes in his books
“PA. The essential role of inedible plants in the environment is to create fertility for edible plants.
