Hilltop hedgerows

Post by antigoon » Thu Nov 01, 2007 9:09 pm

In the book Peter advocates establishing hedgerows on hilltops and ridges. He urges planting deciduous trees but does not make any recommendations. What variety of trees and scrub would be best suited to creating a fertility zone on small acreage??

Peter has a broad knowledge and understanding of landscape functions but he does not claim to be a nurseryman. In that statement about 'decidous plants', the term is applied broadly, and a visit to your local DPI or Landcare or even local nursery might suggest what would work in your specific area best.
