Australia’s Governor-General Major-General Michael Jeffery will visit Commonwealth Bank AgQuip this year.

His Excellency, who will be accompanied by Mrs Jeffery, will be on hand to celebrate a major milestone in the eight-year history of drumMUSTER, the national program for the collection and recycling of empty, cleaned, non returnable crop production and on-farm animal health chemical containers.

Their Excellencies will fly to Gunnedah on Tuesday August 21, the first day of AgQuip, to present a special award to the farmer or farm chemical user who delivered the 10 millionth drum to a drumMUSTER compound, somewhere in Australia. They are expected to arrive at Gunnedah Airport at approximately 11am and depart at approximately 4pm.

His Excellency and Mrs Jeffery will be the guests of honour at a luncheon at AgQuip and will undertake a tour of the site.

The Governor General will be presented with a signed copy of Peter Andrews' book "Back from the Brink" as a vote of thanks by drum Muster's CEO Mike Goodyer.
