Apart from the gallery forest running through the property, there doesn't seem to be many trees at Tarwyn Park. I thought the book advocated tree belts on contour, on the high points etc.

You are correct about the tree situation on Tarwyn Park. trees as you know usually take a long time to grow usually >10 years or longer. once mature these trees would then drop 7% of their mass each year as leaves, bark etc to build fertility. Peter choose instead to grow fast growing plants that many call restorative plants or weeds. These plants are capable of doubling their mass every 10 days and when grown to their flowering maximum, some plants, such as thistles can put 100% of their mass (32-64kgs) back into and onto the soil....much quicker than trees. So weeds grew the system at Tarwyn Park.
